I’ll admit it. I’m becoming increasingly irritated with the folks over at Mobility Today. They’ve gotten their hands on yet another bad-ass toy before us. First it was the Sony UMPC, now it’s the much ballyhooed USB EVDO card. At least I’m better looking than David Ciccone (but, who isn’t?).
On its own, the Franklin Wireless USB EVDO Card looks like a pretty slick device. Paired with a UMPC, it’s a bit of any eyesore, and may actually impact how you hold your device. It’s also incredibly likely to irradiate your hand with dangerous levels of broadband radiation (Thumb cancer is no laughing matter).
Not much information is out on this card but our early tests have shown remarkable speeds! Previous ultra mobile portables have had the “ball and chain” by tethering their EVDO phones/pda’s but now those days are over and it looks like Sprint beat everyone to the punch!
See the full hands-on and some great pics here.

Now if you ask my wife I think she would beg to differ.. Lol!! Keep up the great work here guys!! I am a big fan!
