I’d like to hear from some Tablet Kiosk and Asus owners on their UMPC support experiences. My own Samsung support continues to be very good and I’ve heard this from others as well. Heck, great support alone is enough of a differentiator to recommend UMPC’s!

I’m near the end of my warranty and my battery life has suddenly dropped from 2+ hrs to about 45 mins on low brightness. Same thing happened late last year. No gradual drop, it’s a battery cliff. So I called Samsung and they are sending a second replacement battery now.

The rep was again polite. There was no try this, try that BS. There was a lot of background noise and I suspect the call center is much bigger than when I had a video problem last June, but they continue to do a good job of scaling up support.

Asus, Tablet Kiosk, Others - How has your support experience been?

No counting with the fact that nobody does not know anything about the Official release of Vista Drivers for Q1 owners, I would say that Samsung Support is good ;)

Ctitantic,

Your point is of course correct. ;) They are however, at least supporting what we bought (Hardware and XP) and they are doing that part without a lot of BS. That is NOT true of other hardware vendors I’ve dealt with (ahem Dell).

Thanks for your post, Mark. Reading this reminded me to test the battery life in my own Q1 — a whopping 43 minutes with settings of Maximum Battery Life! So, like you, I called Samsung support and they are shipping me a new battery. I appreciate your giving me the heads up on this. I usually bring the Power Bank battery with me in my bag so I hadn’t noticed just how poorly the internal battery was functioning.

can someone give me the url to get info for Samsung support, in Europe?
the webpage seems to send you round in loops ..
“Notebooks” which is the closest category, does not include the Q1 ..

cheers
